GLAM OR SHAM?: Natalie Portman in Azzaro at the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards
Most of you were less-than-pleased with Natalie Portman's Viktor & Rolf gown at the Golden Globe Awards, saying it was too busy and unflattering to her pregnant frame. Her stylist, Kate Young, must have been listening because she chose a dress with a more fitted silhouette for the SAG Awards.
The white gown (white was the color of the night) was accented with a sparkling embroidered neckline and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Hair, of course, was pulled back.
Blah. White is a fabulous hue (it looked stunning on Eva Longoria) but I'd love to see Natalie in a colorful printed flowing gown (think Mila Kunis' Alexander McQueen) to give her some life. This was safe and boring, and it looks like her stomach can't breathe.
Sham for me, though I'm ecstatic about her second Awards Season win for Best Actress in Black Swan and her paved road to the Oscars.
What do you think of her look?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Natalie Portman in Viktor & Rolf at the 2011 Golden Globes
All anyone in Hollywood (and the fashion industry) could talk about for the past few days is what Natalie Portman might wear. I've heard it all from "Dior - since she's the face of Dior Cherie" to Rodarte who designed the costumes for her incredible movie, Black Swan. The final verdict? The No Strings Attached actress surprised us all with a dress from Viktor & Rolf (though Dior and Rodarte need not worry; there's always The Oscars).
The dress is a couture strapless, multi-layered column gown in dust-pink silk satin adorned with a hand-embroidered Swarovski crystal red rose. Fancy! While it sounds beautiful, I think it was a little busy for her glorious, pregnant round frame.
She paired it with gorgeous Tiffany & Co. jewels that compliment that pregnant glow.
What do you think of her look? Glam or Sham?

Fashion Faceoff: Natalie Portman vs. Taylor Swift in J. Mendel
Am I the only one that still hasn't seen Black Swan?
The movie couldn't have had better timing, and I'm not talking about Oscar season. Black Swan hit theaters at a time where ballerina-inspired fashion, with its whimsical tulle skirts, soft hues and delicate fabrics, is seeing a resurgence.
Taylor Swift embraced the look at this week's People's Choice Awards in a peach dress from J. Mendel which she paired with a soft updo, strappy Prada pumps and bold red lips to add a jolt of sex appeal.
Fittingly, Black Swan star, Natalie Portman, wore the same dress on Vogue's January 2011 cover. Elegant jewelry and soft pink lips completed the look.
Who wore it best? And more importantly, when do I get to wear it?

MAGAZINE GLAM: Natalie Portman On Cover Of Vogue January 2011 Issue

Has anyone seen Black Swan yet?! If so, please refrain from spoiling it by providing detailed scene deets for the rest of us that haven't (me included...I meant to get to it this past weekend, but doing laundry won out over that one..ugh.) OK, now that we've gotten that out of the way, I can share the news that actress Natalie Portman (the star of Black Swan) will be gracing the cover of Vogue's January 2011 issue. I'm no stranger to fawning over her looks (ahem, just click here for evidence of that) but I have to admit that she looks so gorge here on the cover! In the issues, she shares details about the major transformation she had to undergo in order to take on this part. Apparently, she worked 8 hours a day, 6 days a week with former New York City ballet dancer Mary Helen Bowers. It took her about 6 months to create that ballerina body.
Um, that's insane. I can barely get my butt to the gym once a week and once I do I have to go to some sort of organized class because otherwise I'll stay on a machine 15 minutes and call that a work out hahaha. So, I applaud Portman and her ability to transform her body into this greatness and can't wait to see the movie this week!
What do you think of her picture on the cover, Glamazons? I love it! Totally glam.

FOUND: The Perfect Pink-Lipped-Side-Swept-Bun-Hair-Do Look (Courtesy of Natalie Portman)

Um, can we please just pause and thank the beauty gods for giving us this radiant vision of beauty known as Natalie Portman?!
OK, now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's discuss this glamazing look the actress rocked last night at IFP's 20th Annual Gotham Independent Films, shall we?
The makeup is actually surprisingly very simple! Obvs she's wearing hot pink lipstick, but not so obvs are her subtly flushed cheeks (i.e. a lighter shade of pink). Of course, her eyebrows are perfectly groomed, but it's the winged eyeliner that elongates her peepers perfectly...love!

Equally as impressive is that messy side hair bun and it looks so natural that I swear anyone could do it! (Just check out this close look above! But, from working at The Magazine, I know for sure that it usually takes hair stylists a hot minute to create those messy, undone looks.)

And (I just had to point this out) she looks dramatically different from her debut Tuesday night at the Black Swan premiere. I get that she was going for the whole goth beauty look, but that shade of red paired with those curls just make her look old. Or maybe it's just because she's not smiling?
Which look do you prefer, Glamazons? And who else plans on stealing that pink-lipped-side-swept-bun look for themselves?!
