New York Knicks' Amar'e Stoudemire Collaborating on Fashion Line with Rachel Roy?

New York Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire has his hands full these days. His skills on the court (including an unbelievable jumpshot from 15-18 feet) are one of the reasons the Knicks are having their best season since 2001 (record: 16-12. amaze!). Prior to that, he graced the cover of ESPN Magazine in the buff.

And he is simultaneously putting his stamp on the fashion industry with approval from none other than Queen Anna Wintour. She invited him to the Fashion's Night Out fashion show this year (below) and he's rumored to be a Coverboy for Vogue soon. He also attended the Tommy Hilfiger show sitting side-by-side with Wintour (above).

Now, he's trying his hand at designing with a rumored fashion line with Rachel Roy for her diffusion line, Rachel Rachel Roy, sold at Macy's. The collaborative line with Stoudemire will reportedly launch in the Fall.

According to The Cut, they were seen lunching at NYC hot spot, The Lion and Page Six says they've been talking about it since September. Hmm, he does seem to love a good suit...but I've got to see the clothing line to believe it!

And as a huge fan of Rachel Roy's designs (who even quoted The Glamazons while promoting her jewelry line with Estelle), I hope Amar'e Stoudemire's design talent is as great as his basketball talent.

What do you think of the rumored line, Glamazons? Are Rachel Roy and Stoudemire a good fit? Are you excited to see the result of their collaboration?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Sketch of Madonna's Collection for Macy's

If you were expecting cone-bras and latex catsuits, I'm sorry to disappoint you. Madonna's new collection for Macy's, overseen by her fashionable daughter, is conversely understated.

And that's not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, it IS a Junior's line designed by 12-year old Lourdes Leon---so let's give the girls a little time before encouraging them to parade in Madonna's cone and Lady Gaga's shotgun bras.

They can, however, indulge in the collection's glamorous 80's flair with hair bow accessories, oversized blazers, corsets, leggings and cross earrings. Yes, it's basically Mommy Madonna's style from the '80's.

The fashion-forward looks juxtapose girly and gritty styles, like a tutu dress and studded combat boots for example. Despite her status as a Fashion Icon, Madonna credits her daughter with dreaming up the line's funky aesthetic: "I think this line is absolutely an extension of her taste," Madonna said of daughter, Lourdes. "We like to combine … a plaid or a flannel with a lace, or leather with lace or rhinestones. So we mix and match textures and fabrics and elements that are both masculine and feminine."

Ahhh yes. Who doesn't love to mix femme and masculine? That formula will ensure that the collection is a hit. And yet I can't help but be disappointed about the lack of cone bras...how about a lingerie line, Madge? Please and thank you.

Tell us: what do you think of the sketch? Is it GLAM or a SHAM?

Madonna Finally Launches a Clothing Line...for Teens?

Madonna, the style icon who has been influencing fashion for decades, finally has her own clothing line...and it's for teens?

Don't fear: her line won't include corsets with pointy busts for the under 25 set. The Junior's line for Macy's is inspired by her fashionable 13 year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon, who dresses way more conservatively---and unbelievably chic to be so young!

The collection, designed for women ages 13-25, is called "Material Girl" (love it!!!) and includes clothing, shoes and accessories. It retails for $12-$40 and will launch in September, right in time for back-to-school shopping.

The collection is the first project of many to launch under MG Icon, a company Madonna formed with her manager, Guy Oseary. The Macy's Juniors line is also co-owned by Iconix, which owns Candie's and Rampage.

I just think for Madonna's first line, she should have catered to an older audience. I mean, how many teens really listen to, celebrate, worship or even vividly remember Madonna?

If you're going to capitalize off your name, it makes sense to target people who embrace your brand...i.e. people like me, who still play "Vogue" and "Get Into the Groove" as if they came out yesterday.

What do you think of Madonna targeting teens?

My guess is the line is really a way for her fashionable daughter to try her hand at designing. Lourdes, who apparently has been integral in designing the line, is effortlessly cool, chic and sophisticated in her fashion choices. In fact, we have a couple of the same leggings. (A leggings lover is a girl after my own heart!).

So Glamazons, please humor me---what will the line look like? Here are some of Madonna's most famous fashion looks to jog your memory of her one-of-a-kind style. Let's hope it leans more toward Lourdes' aesthetic (though nothing's wrong with some lace gloves!).

Are you looking forward to the launch of the collection? Teens, will you shop it?

Ad Glam: Ne-Yo in Alfani Red for Macy's

Confession: when I first heard Ne-Yo would be the spokesperson for Macy's Alfani Red line, I was skeptical. Though his ever-present fedora adds (slightly) to his fashion credibility, in my opinion, he lacks the innate style and fashion point-of-view of a Kanye, Pharrell or Andre 3000. That is to say he looks like a rerun of Micheal Jackson in Smooth Criminal or the "Rat Pack," (as he likens himself to in interviews) but cannot claim a distinct look of his own.

The unveiling of the black and white ads yesterday at the Metropolitan Pavilion, however, left me pleasantly surprised. Alfani Red and Ne-Yo fit together as seamlessly as Ne-Yo's tailored black suit (he looked very dapper...so much so the fedora didn't annoy me). Alfani Red's new collection brings youth and modernity to the sharp, sophisticated 'Rat Pack' suits of the past and in his brilliant music and timeless style, Ne-Yo aims to do the same. Boasting an impeccable fit and signature red stitching, the collection, which Ne-Yo describes as "bold and sleek," ranges from $49-325. What struck me specifically was the silhouette - the suits taper slightly at the waist and the streamlined look elongates. Truly, it looks stunning on but don't take my word for it - see for yourself.

At the event, Ne-Yo made it clear why he is the face of the brand, charming fashion favorites and photographers and even doing the moonwalk between poses. The year of the gentleman, indeed.

His suave demeanor and affinity for the spotlight were captured brilliantly in the ads by Walter Chin who shot the singer/songwriter in Prague. The unveiling of these ads mark the beginning of a one-year deal with Ne-Yo and the Alfani Red line for Macy's.

What do you think of the ads? Do you think Ne-Yo was the right choice for spokesperson? Will you shop the collection?
