GLAM OR SHAM?: Eva Longoria's White, Ruffled Pucci Gown at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival
Normally, Eva Longoria gets it right on the red carpet. But her Pucci gown at this year's Cannes Film Festival misses the mark.
The elegant draped torso and off-the-shoulder neckline do nothing to enhance her upper body in anyway. Her chest is flattened; her hips aren't accentuated; her waist isn't cinched. It is alarmingly unflattering.
To make matters worse, her petite physique is drowning in a sea of white ruffles.
Yes, Eva, watch your step.
The white color and peach earrings against her gorgeous tanned skin are absolutely gorgeous though!
What do we think of Eva's look for the first day of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival? Glam or Sham?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Bollywood Star Aishwarya Rai in Elie Saab Couture at 2010 Cannes Film Festival
Bollywood star, Aishwarya Rai, is arguably the most beautiful woman in the world. Seriously, her features are just perfect.
So why is she facing criticism for her gown at the first day of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival? The most egregious comment I've read is that she's "fat." (Umm, if she's fat, God help the rest of us.) One commenter said she has a "chubby, wrinkled neck." Wow.
Even with her "chub," she's still an effortless, stunning beauty. Her first look at Cannes is from Elie Saab Haute Couture. Though the detail on the dress reminds me of fish scales, the color and accents (sheer and crystal embroidery) are gorgeous here. I especially love the sheer, assymetric shoulder detail.
The pompadour, which seemed to be a popular hairstyle at Cannes, helps balance out those ruffles and that dramatic train.
Overall, I'm a fan of the look---and Aishwarya---so no complaints here. What are your thoughts, Glamazons? Glam or a Sham?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Salma Hayek Wears the First Gucci Couture Gown at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival
For the first couture gown under the new Gucci Premiere label, Salma Hayek's dress at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival is a bit underwhelming.
Sure, Salma can make a potato sack look gorgeous. But that doesn't make the burgundy, silk Georgette gown look any less plain. The asymmetric neckline and crystal embroidered details don't offer much help either.
The general 'blah' look of the gown doesn't take away from the Couture technique or draping effects---they are stunning---but overall, it doesn't wow me.
I also am not a fan of the shoulder-length haircut. It gives me suburban Mom fresh out the hair salon on a Saturday, instead of red carpet glamour.
What do you think of Salma's look, Glamazons? Glam or a Sham?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Cate Blanchett in Alexander McQueen at 2010 Cannes Film Festival
The late Alexander McQueen personally chose his Pre-Fall 2010 gown for Cate Blanchett to wear to the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
Cate paired it with diamond earrings and bracelets from Van Cleef & Arpels and donned it to the premiere for Robin Hood (umm, can't wait to see that! I love Robin Hood movies...like Men in Tights...but I digress).
Sure, it's a beautiful, dramatic gown but the black color and eagle motif are eerie given the dark period McQueen was in before his death. Speaking of which, the eagle print is a bit too casual (doesn't it usually show up on motorcycle jackets) for a red carpet gown, in my opinion.
Still, it's unexpected and Cate brings an air of grace to the look. What do we think, Glamazons? Glam or a Sham?
