GLAM OR SHAM?: Eva Longoria in Georges Hobeika Couture at the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards
Eva Longoria is one of the few Hollywood starlets who can go from show to show during Awards Season without missing one glamorous beat. Though each look is new and refreshing (she's no Angelina), they are always stunning, regal and polished. Totes Glamazon material.
At the Golden Globes, she was a veritable black bombshell in a long black gown that hugged her curves perfectly. For the Screen Actors Guild Awards, she pours on the sexy again but this time in a gorgeous stone-hued gown by Georges Hobeika Couture from their Spring 2011 collection.
Even with the plunging neckline, the draped waist and fluid silhouette bring a touch of elegance. Her updo, metallic shimmer and silver accessories (Fred Leighton earrings and Ferragamo clutch) bring the look full circle.
What do you think of her gown? Glam or Sham?

Gwen Stefani Is New Face Of L'Oreal Paris!!

Um, how glamazing is is that one of my favorite singers and style idols Gwen Stefani is the new face of one of my fave beauty brands, L'Oreal?! I'm just like beyond and over Cloud 9 upon reading this news!
Her first campaign will be for Infalliable Le Rouge, a new collection of conditioning long wear lip color followed by Superior Preference hair color. Of course, it's only fitting that L'Oreal focus their branding upon two of Stefani's well-known assets: those red lips and platinum blond hair. LOVE. Stefani is just another platinum gilded rung on the ladder otherwise known as L'Oreal spokespersons. (Beyonce, Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington and Jennifer Lopez are just a few that make up the rest). What do you think of the news, Glamazons?!

Eva Longoria Launches Fragrance in London; Promises It Will Please Peeps Who Are "Allergic" To Perfumes

Actress Eva Longoria was recently snapped Sunday at The Perfume Shop in London as part of the official launch of her new signature fragrance Eva by Eva Longoria.
Last year, Longoria had this to say to WWD about why her fragrance was so darned special:
"I have always been somewhat allergic to all perfumes and really wanted to create something that every woman could wear. So, I decided to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that."
Um, so if you're really "allergic" to perfumes, shouldn't you just avoid them all-together?! Isn't it like false advertising to say that every woman can wear this new fragrance if you're truly allergic to fragrance?

Yes, Glamazons, I have seriously sat here and analyzed this. And I'm pretty sure that what the lovely Longoria meant when she said "allergic to perfumes" is that this is for those woman that can't stand the smell of cheap, overbearing liquids that other celebrities sometimes launch. (Ahem, Beyonce. Sorry guys but I still stand by my opinion that her first fragrance Heat smells cheap..and horrible. Hopefully her next one will be much better!)
Anywhoo, back to Longoria: apparently the actress was extremely involved in the making of it so that should be a good sign, right? It features top notes of citrus, neroli, bergamot tea and aldehydes. The heart of the fragrance includes sheer jasmine, muguet, violet and freesia with a drydown of skin musk, amber and sandalwood. The bottle was designed to resemble a "female silhouette."
Here's what the ads will look like:

It sounds like it will smell very light and pretty, but I'll hold judgement on it until I smell it for myself. The fragrance is slated to hit the U.S. by April2011 and will be available in stores such as Macy's and Dilliard's.
In the meantime don't you think that Longoria looks like Victoria Beckham's little mini-me in that beige dress (which just so happens to be a Victoria Beckham design) and matching Louboutins?! She looks gorge (per usual) but I really do wish that she'd develop her own style and run with it.
What do you think Glamazons? Also, who plans on buying the fragrance when it hits the U.S.?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Eva Longoria at the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards
Eva Longoria-Parker wowed many at the 2010 Emmy Awards in a strapless black gown by Robert Rodriguez. Personally, I found the look boring and safe. I swear I've seen this look on her a million times before.
Still, if it's not broke, don't fix it. And the purple chandelier earrings added some much-needed flair and energy to the look.
Overall, Longoria was stunning as usual though I would've loved to see more dramatic, fascinating gown on her.
What's your opinion on her look? Is it Glam or Sham?

GET THE LOOK: Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria's Super Sexy Hair

When I saw pictures of the fab twosome Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria strutting their stuff on the red carpet as hosts for "A Night of Fashion And Technology with LG Mobile Phones" party Monday night at the Soho House in West Hollywood, C.A., I couldn't help but swoon. I'm officially in hair lust with Beckham's textured cut...and Longoria's low, messy bun looks perfect for summer. Beckham looked long and lean in a short, neutral colored frock (it's a shorter version of the full-length gown she rocked at the Oscar's from her Victoria Beckham Fall 2010 collection) and Brian Atwood pumps. Longoria-Parker looked cute in a ruffled cream and black Reem Acra dress and strappy, black Atwood heels. Side note: I think I need her shoes to live. Both starlets are currently the faces of LG mobile phones.
Turns out that the hairstylist behind this awesome hair is none other than celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves and he shared with The Glamazons how he created the look; so now, you can do it yourself at home!
Side note: I'm growing my hair out a little bit longer and styling it just like Beckham's...love!

Here's what he had to say about the inspiration behind the looks he created:
“I almost always get inspiration from what my clients are wearing – it tells the whole story when paired up with hair and makeup. Both Eva and Victoria chose outfits in nude shades that were modern yet feminine, clean and sexy! I decided the hair needed to be clean, simple with some slight texture to seem effortless, just like the clothes!”

Here's how to get Beckham's look:
-For Victoria, I started by using Self Help by Ken Paves A Shining Soul Volume-Friendly Glosser shine serum on her dried hair, concentrating on the ends.
-Then, using a 1-inch curling iron (try Ken Paves Professional Curling Iron) I took random pieces and curled some towards the front of her face and some towards the back, for a more piecy look.
-I finished off with a firm hairsrpray (try Self Help by Ken Paves Healthy Boundaries Hairspray) to provide hold and shine.

Here's how Beckham's hair looked from the back...isn't it super cute? Oh, and that tattoo is the business! Wonder what it means?

Aren't Eva and her husband, NBA's San Antonio Spurs Tony Parker, beyond adorbs?! I just love, love...and this picture...sigh. But, I digress...here's how to create her messy, low-bun look:
-To get Eva’s look, I started on her clean, air-dried hair that was free of any product.
-Once it was 95% air dry, I spritzed her hair with a texturizing spray (try Self Help by Ken Paves Stop Putting Up Walls Styling Mist to provide texture to the hair without buildup).
-Then using my hands, I loosely pulled her hair back into a low chignon, and secured it with bobby pins – not a rubber band – for a more effortless look.
-I then fingered through some firm hairspray to keep the volume on top intact and flyaways at bay.
Which hairdo look do you plan on stealing for yourself?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Eva Longoria's White, Ruffled Pucci Gown at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival
Normally, Eva Longoria gets it right on the red carpet. But her Pucci gown at this year's Cannes Film Festival misses the mark.
The elegant draped torso and off-the-shoulder neckline do nothing to enhance her upper body in anyway. Her chest is flattened; her hips aren't accentuated; her waist isn't cinched. It is alarmingly unflattering.
To make matters worse, her petite physique is drowning in a sea of white ruffles.
Yes, Eva, watch your step.
The white color and peach earrings against her gorgeous tanned skin are absolutely gorgeous though!
What do we think of Eva's look for the first day of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival? Glam or Sham?

Beyond the Bedroom

I never understood lingerie (why spend so much money on something nobody sees?) until I started handling the market for our magazine. Now that tons of gifted bras, panties and chemises are coming my way (yes, the perks are amazing!), I've fallen in love with the soft lacy necklines, luxurious satin pajamas and 40's pin-up style corsets, dripping with sensuality.
Every woman loves to feel sexy---that's no surprise---but this season brings an edgy, fashion-forward feel to lingerie...and oh, one other major difference. You wear it outside the bedroom.
Are you still with me? Good.
Bows. Lace. Silk. Sheer. All boudoir staples that can be found in the collections of your favorite designers---in the most unconventional of ways.
Sheer Bliss

From top left: Alexander Wang. Dior. Derercuny. Alberta Ferretti. Malandrino. Just Cavalli.
The translucent fabrics that were airy and wispy last year have given way to revealing patterns and curve-hugging silhouettes, that leave little to the imagination. Work them into your day wardrobe with a feminine blouse (like Derercuny's printed top) and then slide into a slinky, sheer dress (worn over a slip) come nightfall.

Silk Road
Both by Dolce & Gabbana.
Dolce & Gabbana says life is a pajama party with silk menswear-inspired pj's, elegant and sophisticated enough to be worn out on the town. If the thought of strolling around in your nightclothes is unnerving, you can opt for a more subdued version of the trend. Silk blouses paired with structured pieces, like pencil skirts, will strike the perfect balance between night and day.
Kate Beckinsdale nails the pajama look in a sexy, satin YSL wrap dress at the Heroes/CNN tribute.
Amazing Lace
From top left: Jean Paul Gaultier. John Galliano. Just Cavalli. Marchesa. Rachel Roy. Tracy Reese.
There's no fabric as romantic and charmingly feminine as lace. John Galliano's stunning blue gown aside, lace noir is Fashion's edgy answer to the dainty white, muted lace of seasons past. It lends itself to dark romance---dramatic, erotic, vampy and bold.
Here are three ways to tone down the va-va-voom appeal for day: (1) Layer the lace so it becomes less transparent and gives more coverage. (2) Pair with structured suiting or denim. (3) Choose full, ladylike silhouettes, like Tracy Reese's halter dress. For night, throw caution to the wind and go dangerously sexy like Gwyneth (blazer is optional).

Take A Bow

From top left: Marchesa. Christian Dior. Elie Saab. Lanvin. Marc Jacobs. Temperley London.
Oversized bust bows are my new obsession in life. They're playful and coquettish in the most modern, fashionable way. The perfect accent to a beautiful dress like Marchesa's frill-seeking number, worn by glamazon, Eva Longoria, to the Emmy's.

Bustier Beauties

Bustier Beauties
From top left: Alexis Mabille. Carolina Herrera. Christian Dior. Dolce & Gabbana. House of Holland. Berardi.
Bustiers provide a classic, vixen silhouette, lifting and cinching in all the right places. This season gives you two looks to choose from: the seductive top coupled with a voluminous skirt for a look that's high in contrast or a minimalist study in sleek, like Berardi's fitted dress. I love the look of a bustier under a blazer with skinny jeans or a pencil skirt, it screams sexy sophisticate.
What do you think about the new lingerie-for-day? For one thing, it certainly takes care of the problem of no one seeing my expensive innerwear. With these refined, revealing looks, you're sure to be the center of attention.
