Kime Buzzelli

Kime Buzzelli, is one of the fashion illustrators who has inspired me for a long time, I am not overly keen on heavy CAD generated illustrations so her mixed media methods are perfect for my taste! Buzzelli was a major influence in producing my graduate collection. Buzzelli has been experimenting with various media to "transform the hideous into something with glamour." Her choice of materials are as diverse as, make up, watercolour, thread, fabric and a variety of decomposing materials. Buzzelli confesses she is obsessed with lost innocence, teen lust - that making out in a back seat kinda feeling. Amazing inspiration for her illustrations and she captures it well, and I'm thinking the perfect soundtrack to all this must be Katy Perry's latest album Teenage Dream, with adolescent gems such as 'Last Friday Night' and 'The One that got Away'.

Not only is Kime Buzzelli producing these amazing illustrations and commissions, since 2009 she has been the Costume Designer for US teen drama (and my biggest guilty pleasure) '90210'. Surely the most 'unreal' job like ever?! She also owns and runs iconic shop 'Showpony' in L.A.

Buzzelli's work and career is sure one to watch.

BeBe + "90210" = New Clothing Collection

Bebe is racking in the collabos! From the Kardashians, they've now shifted their attention to the CW's "90210." Side note: No offense, but who watches this show?! I did once...and never again. Probably because I grew up watching the original ("Beverly Hills 90201") and know that none can compare to the cast that included Brenda, Brandon, Kelly and Dylan. Sigh...
With that said, if Bebe were to do a clothing collabo with the "Beverly Hills 90210" cast, I'd be super excited, so I'm sure that there are some "90210" fans out there happy to read this news (hence I am sharing it with you lol).
According to today's issue of Women's Wear Daily, the clothing line will be a collobo between producers and wardrobe stylists from the show along with Bebe's creative design team. You should start to see items from the clothing line on the show with the launch of the series' third season this fall. There will be four collections annually that will include dresses, tops, bottoms and accessories.
"Partnering with '90210' makes perfect sense because there is a natural synergy between our Bebe brand and the adventurous energy and sexiness portrayed by the characters in the show," Manny Mashouf, founder and chief executive officer of Bebe, told WWD.
No word yet as to what the price points in the clothing will be or a set date as to when the line will actually hit stores. (We're sure that since it will probably be freezing again in New York by the time it does that we won't be able to wear any of it anyways lol) But, here's to hoping that the line will be budget friendly and that there will be a couple of cute sweaters for us East Coasters to choose from in there somewhere.
