Jennifer Aniston Renames (And Launches) New Fragrance

So, this is kind of like the equivalency of having a child, naming it, announcing it's birth, and then (after much thought) deciding that maybe it should have a different name. Which means that you would then have to send out a new set of announcements saying that what you thought was the name wasn't really!
Ok, so I'm not pregnant or having a child (wait, neither is Jennifer Aniston!) but I am talking about her choice to change the name of her fragrance at the last millisecond. It's like the equivalency of the above (you know, the whole having a child scenario that I described).
The 41-year-old actress launched not Lolavie (the fragrance's previous name) but Jennifer Aniston the fragrance.
Yawn.
At least Lolavie was an interesting name, but I guess that the marketing geniuses behind the fragrance decided against it at the last second. This might have been ok if they hadn't already released the news and had it splashed all over the cover of WWD. Ugh.

But, onto the fragrance news: the actress recently launched her signature scent at overseas at Harrods in London wearing a strapless, nude colored mini Valentino dress and sporting some rather sleek tresses. As previously reported here on The Glamazons, us Americans will have to wait until later this year to get our hands on a bottle.
Oh, and did I mention that new shots from advertising are out for it as well? Unsurprisingly, she's topless at the beach in one of her fave spots: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I do have to admit that her body is banging, right?!

What do you think of the new name of Jennifer Aniston's fragrance? Don't you think the name LolaVie was much more interesting? Do you think maybe she's hiding something? (I do!) Hmmmmm.....

Jennifer Aniston: Barefoot and Alone in Upcoming Ad Campaign For Her Fragrance, Lolavie

Jennifer Aniston finally opens up more about her soon-to-debut fragrance, Lolavie, in today's Women's Wear Daily. She also released an image for the ad campaign of her sitting alone on a rock, wrapped in a beat up looking blanket and looking cold. If this is the piece of her that she has to offer, then I'm totally not interested. When I think of a celebrity fragrance, I think of something fabulous and decadent. (Yes, I'm obviously a fan of Kimora Lee Simmons' new fragrance, Dare Me and the ads; although I'm still convinced that's not her body.)
But, an image of a woman sitting alone on a rock barefoot at the beach does nothing for me. She looks like the opposite of what I (and I'm sure many other women in the world) strive for; and that's to not be alone. If anything, looking at this ad just makes me feel sorry for her.

However, I am a fan of the final packaging. It looks like a classy bottle that I wouldn't mind sitting on my boudoir. Lolavie will hit shelves abroad in June, but there's been no set date as to when it will hit the U.S. When asked what the name meant, she told WWD that "it's a long story and honestly it's too personal to tell, but it has special significance." Hmmm...a little bit of enigma never hurts to sell a fragrance.
The ad photo was taken in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. David Lipman, who helped to come up with the packaging and the ad campaign for the fragrance had this to say about the shot:

"What you see in the photos is really how she is; she's unrehearsed and free. She didn't want it to feel like a moment of pretension at any point, and even the shoot was very one-on-one. We hope that if people like the purity and the naturalness of who she is, they will want to experience this product with her."

What do you think of the advertisement photo and the final packaging of the fragrance? Do you think that Aniston has a good shot in the fragrance arena?

Jennifer Aniston Releases Name Of Her New Fragrance

In other fragrance news that I could care less about yet feel I must report on for the 2% of you out there that do, Jennifer Aniston has decided on a name for her fragrance: Lola V. As expected, it's not exciting and (as I said before) will probably be such a boring scent that I'll wonder why it even exists. Aniston recently stated that she's been working on the fragrance for over a year now. It will launch in the U.K. this month and makes its U.S. debut later this year. In other Aniston news, she was recently photographed with Gerard Butler grabbing her butt and she'll also be on the May 2010 cover of Harper's Bazaar.

GLAM OR SHAM?: Jennifer Aniston's Signature Fragrance

According to a recent post on people.com (via wwd.com), we hear that Jennifer Aniston is expected to announce her plans to launch a signature fragrance. Hmmm...we wonder what the name of it will be and, equally important, what it will smell like. This is just my personal opinion, but I think that Jennifer Aniston is one of the most boring actresses to ever walk the planet. From her blonde hair to her pearly white teeth, there's never been anything remotely interesting about her at all to me. (Not even her brief marriage to Brad Pitt interested me.) I'm sure that she's a very nice person, but I really do think that her fragrance will be nothing fabulous and will only sell because of her name: Jennifer Aniston.
What do you think Glamazons? Glam or Sham? Will you be scooping this scent once it hits shelves?
