GLAM OR SHAM?: Lauren Conrad's New Brunette Locks

I have to say that I've been so caught up in the hoopla of organizing my life (yes it's one of my New Year's resolutions..to be better organized) that I almost didn't notice that Lauren Conrad dyed her hair brown! Yes, no longer is she that sane blondie from The Hills. (Because we all recognize that Heidi Montag is totally the crazy blondie from The Hills.) Does this mean that she's finally displaced herself from the rest of the cast? I totally realize that The Hills isn't even relevant anymore (it's all about Snooki, J-Wow and Sammie from The Jersey Shore..duh..) but it seems that it's like the end of a tweenage era now that she's no longer blonde. Like Lauren's finally growing up to become a celebrity in her own right.
Or maybe I'm just reading too much into this and what really happened is that she just got bored and one day decided to dye her hair. Nothing less and nothing more. Sigh. Whatever the case, she seems to be doing better than her other former cast members. Side note: have you read those stories about Speidi in the tabloids about how they now live in the guest house at Spencer's parents' house?! Hot mess.
On a purely beauty note, I vote this new hair color on Lauren GLAM. It makes her look older and more mature, but in a totally good way. What do you think, Glamazons?

Call the Glambulance: Gabourey Sidibe's Hair on the Cover of ELLE Magazine

I am speechless as to why someone would throw a horrid wig on this poor talented girl. So unknowing, so innocent, Gabourey Sidibe was made to look a boiling mess on the cover of Elle Magazine's 25th Anniversary issue.

This wig looks like a brillo pad, like they literally mopped the floor and makeup counter with it then plopped it on our head.

Eek. As dry and rigid as the desert. Try running your fingers through it and I guarantee you'd come out with cuts on your hand.

She is a beautiful, young lady. This is offensive.

Somehow, they got it together for the other covers, featuring Amanda Seyfried, Meghan Fox and Lauren Conrad.  An apology is in order.

Don't you agree? (P.S. I've been on a million sets and at any given time, there are 15 people offering their opinion without being asked. There wasn't one person on set who spoke up about that billowing disaster on "Gabby's" head? Even when retouching, which they have an affinity for at Elle, they didn't notice how bad her hair looked? Confusing...)

GLAM OR SHAM?: The Hills Finale Fashion with Lauren Conrad & Crew PLUS Shop The Look

The Hills didn't influence my life (like MTV is suggesting), but it DID influence my fashion choices. The California girls, whose romance, careers and drama we've watched for seasons, did have everything a fashionista could want at their disposal: credit cards and Rodeo Drive.

With L.C. and Whitney penning their own clothing lines, it's no wonder the Hills became a force in the fabulous world of Los Angeles fashion (and we did enjoy the tearful BFF breakups, Speidi saga and love triangles on the side). I mean, the plot line and Heidi's boobs may not be real, but their fashion obsession certainly was.

For the finale this Tuesday, the girls ended the show with a bang in fashion-forward frocks that are characteristically young, trendy and chic. Check out the looks below and tell me who wore your favorite dress.

L.C. wore a sexy, metallic Mandalay dress.

Her steady BFF Lo Bosworth chose a sizzling white mini from Tadashi Shoji

Kristin Cavallari glowed in a Zuhair Murad banded one-shoulder stunner. Pow!

Audrina showed off her fit bod in a purple one-shoulder cut-out dress

The stylish Whitney Port went for a fun, printed mini with cut-outs from the great, Matthew Williamson.

The sister of everyone's favorite nemesis, Spencer, Stephanie Pratt got sexy in a banded blue mini from Herve Leger.

All fab! Will you miss following the love life, friendships and drama of the Hills crew? And what happened with Spencer and Heidi? (One of life's burning questions...lol)

Oh, and here are some glamazing summer dresses inspired by their looks. Cut-outs, sequins and one-shoulder necklines galore!

MARK Names "Twilight" Star Ashley Greene New Face of Brand

Move over Lauren Conrad....there's a new MARK girl in town!
Avon's MARK decided not to renew Conrad's contract with the brand (and thank God because I think she's beyond boring...yawn...) and decided to go with actress Ashley Greene to portray the newest brand ambassador. (And for those of you who live under a rock and have no clue who Ashley Greene is, she's the girl that plays that kick-ass vampire Alice Cullen in the "Twilight" movies.)
"Initially, I was drawn to MARK because of the products," Greene, 23, told WWD. "But what really sealed the deal was its empowering message to young women, which is something I relate to."
What great news for MARK! I'm a huge fan of the products, so here's to hoping that Greene will inject some more spunk into the brand.

Lauren Conrad's New Book & TV Show Season Premiers

Spotlight On The Media
Lauren Conrad's Newest Book In The L.A. Candy Series:
I loved Lauren Conrad's first book, L.A. Candy, and was glad when I saw the second one in the series, Sweet Little Lies, on display at Books-A-Million. The storyline is very similar to what Conrad has experienced herself. Its about reality television. L.A. Candy is the name of the reality television show in the book, and the story is about the girls on the show (mainly Jane Roberts and Scarlett Harp). They're really good reads, and I definitely recommend them. Lauren Conrad did a great job.

Gossip Girl Season 4 Premier:
Gossip Girl is one of my favorite shows, so I couldn't wait until the 4th season was going to air. It premiered on Monday, and so I'll give you a basic recap. Chuck met a woman who could possibly be his mother (who was believed to have died while in child birth with Chuck), Nate and Serena's relationship, and Jenny's getting into dangerous situations with her new European friend. What's going to happen? Only time will tell. . . . . .

America's Next Top Model Season 14:
Yesterday was the premier of America's Next Top Model Season 14. They narrowed down the girls and then the girls who made it got makeovers. It was only the first episode, so I'm not sure what all there names are yet, but so far I like the girl who's head is shaved. I think she's going to do go. What do you think?
