Karl Lagerfeld for Macy's: Confirmed!

Another glamazing collaboration to add to the recent wave of masstige collections (Lanvin for H&M and Valentino for Gap)? Karl Lagerfeld for Macy's.

WWD reports that the only man to make me stop breathing in his presence, Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld is penning an affordable ready-to-wear line for Macy's of jeans and party dresses that will be sold online and in 250 Macy's stores starting September 2011. Squeals!

Karl Lagerfeld's collection is part of a new designer initiative that Macy's is launching in 2011 where designers will create masstige collections for their Impulse department rotating every two months. Kinder Aggugini and Matthew Williamson's diffusion lines will precede Karl's.

Though they're late to the high-end/mass retailer party, Macy's will certainly increase sales and cause pandemonium with Karl Lagerfeld on board.

Do tell: are you excited for Karl Lagerfeld's diffusion line? Will you shop the collection? I can only pray these furry boots make an appearance.

Win A $150 Gift Card to RachelRoy.com and Have Your Video Featured on Rachel Roy Online!

And my love affair with Rachel Roy continues...

The way she bravely pursues her dream of designing and regularly empowers women is so inspiring to me. She is a true example of living out loud and now, she's celebrating women who do the same.

For the RACHEL Rachel Roy Fall 2010 lookbook, she found inspiration in twenty real women who "live out loud." Each woman shared how they live life to the fullest while rocking one of RRR's new looks in individual videos. Check them out here.

Now, it's your turn. From August 25th to September 24th, you can create a video telling Rachel Roy what inspires you and how you live life to the fullest for a chance to win an $150 gift card to RachelRoy.com, and to see your video featured on the site. Post your video to Rachel Roy's YouTube page as a response to her "Living Out Loud" video to enter the contest.

Five winners will be selected, so get to recording! Best of luck from The Glamazons.

Madonna Lookalikes Flood Macy's for the Material Girl Launch

If you ever questioned Madonna's iconic status, one sight of the Madonna lookalike Mom and daughter duos that clamored into Macy's for the launch of Material Girl would make you a believer.

According to WWD, the store was overrun with women dressed in blonde wigs, cross earrings, tulle skirts and the like. (Seriously, the line extended from Broadway down to 33rd Street).

The interesting part? Mothers (who partied during the prime of Madonna's career) and their daughters were hand-in-hand on line dressed in Madonna-inspired garb and itching for the chance to shop from Madonna's first fashion line. Surely, that's a testament to the superstar's broad and timeless appeal.

While the launch didn't fare as well in cities outside NYC and LA, Macy's anticipates huge back-to-school sales for the line and accordingly, debuted it in major cities with much fanfare. In NYC, the first 200 shoppers scored a bandeau and were treated to a performance by spokesperson, Taylor Momsen; in LA, fans waiting online were asked Madonna trivia questions, given wristbands and $10 gift cards, and a Kiss FM DJ played Madonna's songs.

Taylor performing.

While WWD seemed surprised both grown folks and teens were dressing up as Madonna, I wouldn't expect anything less. She is a larger-than-life icon whose appeal transcends generational borders. "Vogue" is the most-played song on my ipod, and my younger sister's, and I'm sure my niece will join the party when she gets old enough. Don't you agree that Madonna is just incredibly amazing?

And who doesn't want to dress like her? Ferocia and I took full advantage at The Magazine's 80's party back in the day (see below) because umm, it's fun! If only I was a teenage girl going back to school...

What do you think of the launch pandemonium? And sidenote: was Taylor Momsen the right choice for spokesperson? Teens (or better yet, anyone who can fit it) are you planning on shopping the collection?

A Day in the Life: Cavi Women's Runway Show with Adrienne Bailon and Teyana Taylor

The worlds of entertainment, fashion and music collided for the Cavi Designs Women's Fashion Show last week at Macy's. The result? Fabulosity at its best.

Hosted by Adrienne Bailon and Teyana Taylor, the event showcased the hottest styles from Cavi's Junior's line at Macy's. The look is sophisticated, refined and chic with an urban edge.

Highlights include a stylish zippered jumpsuit and a glamazing pink motorcycle jacket that I have to get my hands on. My favorite look, however, is a belted blazer and shorts ensemble that offer a sexy take on the military look of Cavi's menswear line.

Check out the looks from the Spring line and pics from the event below:

I need this outfit in my life.

Teyana Taylor and Adrienne Baillon before the show. I LIVE for that pink motorcycle jacket.

That military-inspired vest is so sexy - a must have!

Macy's was packed with tastemakers, celebrities and fans of the Cavi line. Great times!

Here's the fab display of the Cavi Womenswear line! Check it out at Macy's and go to www.cavinyc.com for more information on the brand.

A Day in the Life: Estelle and Rachel Roy's In-Store Event Plus Estelle Performance Video!

Hey Glamazons!

There's no hiding the love I have for Estelle and Rachel Roy's jewelry line (and by the way, they love the Glamazons back!). So as you can imagine, I was first in line to attend their in-store Macy's event to check out the new Rachel Rachel Roy pieces and meet the lovely ladies behind the collection.

Little did I know, Estelle was going to give an intimate performance of her hottest records and I'd be right in front of the stage! Estelle sang her hit songs, Freak and American Boy for the crowd in a fashionable pair of green heels and a gorgeous necklace from the Rachel Rachel Roy and Estelle jewelry collection. Check out video of her performance below!

The only thing that gets me more excited than live music? Fabulous, affordable clothes. Rachel Rachel Roy's newest collection includes bright hues, safari-style jackets, tye-dye denim, painterly prints, studded blazers, leopard print dresses, jeweled sandals, buckled booties and more.

I DIED for this ring! Stunning.

And I spotted a clutch from Rachel Roy's charitable collaboration with Fairwinds Trading that was even more beautiful in person. What better way to give back in style?

And of course, the performer, Miss Estelle, and DJ brought the glamour. Love!

Pick up Rachel's amazing pieces available now in your local Macy's store.

Beyonce's 'Heat' Is A Hit

Hey Glamazons! Well, everyone just loves Beyonce's new fragrance. (No surprise there.)
As you know, she recently launched her first signature scent 'Heat' and (although I personally don't care for it; check out my review here), Macy executives have been blown out of the water at it's quick success. Chairman, president and chief executive officer Terry Lundgren (for Macy's) recently noted that 'Heat' has sold $3 million worth between February to early March. At the Herald Square in-store signing, 72,000 bottles were sold in just the one hour that she was there. I'm waiting for her to come out with a fierce line of lace front weaves and a signature cosmetics line next!
