Richie Rich Selling Tickets to His Fashion Week Show; Five Things You Can Expect For Your Money

Anticipation for Fall 2011 Fashion Week has reached a fever pitch. Designers are dishing on their inspiration and hosting fashion week contests. NARS has announced their first-ever boutique to open on Day One. And Richie Rich (above, in the flesh, with the Glamazons) is prepared to top all of that---well, except maybe the NARS part. And you're not surprised, are you?

Fashion's rebel savant is selling, I repeat selling tickets to his fashion show. The tickets will cost you $35, and proceeds will benefit DOSomething.org and Cookies for Kids' Cancer. Love the charity angle, but has this even been done before?

Richie Rich had this to say about his ticket buyers who are presumably attending Fashion Week for the first time via Fashion Indie: "It’s fun when people who haven’t experienced it get a chance to and see what it’s about. And it’s as much fun to watch the crowd as it is to watch the show."

I'm sure people will pay for it, and it'll be worth it.

I remember my first Richie Rich show during the Fall 2009 season. There were drag queens, pretty boys, violinists, half-naked men, a Pam Anderson appearance, a Kat Deluna performance, an Ice-T and Coco sighting and so much more. In essence, it was a circus. And I had never felt more at home. One of my fave shows ever ever ever!

So here, in short, are 5 things you'd get for your money if you bought those tickets...in addition to the fashion, of course:

1. Really, really attractive attendees.

2. Musical performances---and by music, I mean pop culture (Kat Deluna) and classical (violinist)...also, there may or may not have been an opera singer involved.

3. No one storms the catwalk quite like a drag queen. Witness it in person.

4. Almost Naked Boys. Always a good thing.

5. Random Yet Inexplicably Exciting Celeb Sightings Sidenote: Yes I met Ice-T and Coco and felt like part of the family!

As you can see, it'll be worth every dime...but since when do shows charge? And will he start a precedent for fashion shows you can attend through Ticketmaster?

And would you pay to see his show? If you could pick a designer to buy tickets to, who would it be? I'm sure you can guess who I'd pay to see...yep, Chanel hehe.

Countdown to Fall 2011 Fashion Week: Rebecca Taylor Inspiration #NYFW

Rebecca Taylor is the reigning queen of flirty and feminine dressing. Her Fall 2011 collection promises to give longtime fans of the brand just that---with a renewed romantic twist.

Taylor's inspiration this season comes from the City of Lights, particularly the Parisian night clubs of the 1970's. Think decadence, glamour, romance and adventure.

Check out a quote from the designer below and sketch above.

Rebecca Taylor
“Fall 2011 is inspired by dreamy illusive paintings, blurred images and sparkling lights, conjuring images of dimly lit nights in the chic Parisian night clubs of the 70’s.  Dresses in luscious prints revealed beneath rich, smokey colored shearlings, found beading and lace patched over delicate printed dresses, lace appliqués on silk tees under shimmering lurex sweaters, cocooning from the cold and ready to set forth on adventures in the city.”

Tres chic! Are you excited to see the new collection (like I am)?

Countdown to Fall 2011 New York Fashion Week: Tracy Reese Inspiration

We've seen celebrated designer Tracy Reese offer everything from punk-rock princess with her Fall 2010 collection to 70's laidback luxe with her Spring 2011 collection, all to critical acclaim. For Fall 2011, she returns to her ladylike roots with graphic and floral prints. What's new? She introduces new structured silhouettes in neutral, understated tones characterized by pops of metallic and rich color. Take a look at her inspiration sketch above and a quote below.

Tracy Reese

“Fall 2011 unfolds in rich hues, sculptural shapes and interesting textural combinations.  Each look has some point of brilliance – a shot of metallic, antique copper and silver, or a vibrant pop of raspberry, aqua or amber – breathing new life into muted neutral tones of toffee, black, brown and gray. Tactile pairings and more voluminous silhouettes enhance 3-dimensionality; a scarf-cape is paired with a pleated maxi skirt in rich curry, with a jade clutch for a color burst. Graphic and floral prints remain strong for the season, adding a spark of individuality to fall ensembles,” says designer Tracy Reese

What do you think about Tracy Reese's latest direction? Are you excited to see her collection?

WOULD YOU WEAR...Winter Shorts like Alexa Chung and Nicole Richie?

There are some things I just can't leave in the summer: boys, peeptoe pumps, flirty, floral dresses, miniskirts. A pair of shorts is not one of them.

That's not to say I don't adore the shorts and tights look which is tres chic for early Fall dressing. But there is a cutoff date, and I'd say it's probably when the rest of the world is wearing fur jackets, knee boots and scarves.

The freezing temperature hasn't stopped a couple celebs from stepping it out in shorts and tights. (I'm hoping they're in Los Angeles because ten minutes near the West Side Highway in Manhattan and you'd turn to ice).

And designers are churning out shorts in winter textures like velvet and wool.

What say you? Is it way too late in the season to rock the winter shorts look or would you brave it with a pair of cashmere cableknit tights and knee-length boots?

Discuss.

And if you love the winter shorts look, here are some studded, wool, velvet or leather shorts to brave the cold in:

PIC: Beyonce Walks in Tom Ford Spring 2011 Show

Ugh. We told you during New York Spring 2011 Fashion Week that Queen Beyonce walked in the Tom Ford show but due to Mr. Ford's distaste for the internet and fashion media in general, editors weren't allowed to take or share pictures.

Well, finally, Glamazons, the moment has come where the picture they guarded like fossils at the Louvre has been released. The picture will appear in the January issue of Harper's Bazaar. And it may have been worth the wait.

A voluminous blonde curly afro, skin-tight metallic python-pattern dress and fishnet peeptoe knee boots? Fierce! Did she vanish at the end of the catwalk into a pool of sequined glitter? That's the only way this could get hotter.

What do you think of Bey's look? Glam or Sham?

And if you missed it, check out Tom Ford's full Womenswear collection here.

New York Fashion Week: Marc Jacobs Spring 2011

If I could choose a decade to fashionably transport myself to, it'd be the magical era of the '70s. The Summer of Love was full of flamboyant, free-spirited bliss with wild, voluminous hair, sweeping maxidresses and energetic prints. Marc Jacobs gave this glorious decade a new-age flair with an aesthetic as sophisticated as it was enticing.

His makeover of seventies fashion started with the materials: Style.com cites gauzes, voiles and etamines as his fabrics of choice. The look of the collection follows suit.

Colors are explosive, energetic and vivid with oranges, pinks, purples and browns taking centerstage. While he shows platforms, these just aren't any sandals---Marc Jacobs' platforms are glittery and gold. His accessories run the gamut from exquisite floral hairpieces and elaborate necklaces to streamlined handbags and bright wide-brimmed hats.

The sophistication emerges in tailored khaki or satin jumpsuits, wideleg pants and trench coats that blend the structured silhouettes and cinched waists of the '40s with the free-spirited air of the '70s.

Prints varied from '70's dots to Missoni-esque zig-zag patterns to stripes (with circle-pattern pasties around the bust!). Talk about fun with fashion. Flutter sleeves, wide floral belts and glorious sheer maxidresses also work to give this collection pizazz and personality.

Bringing the '70s into the 21st century, metallic shorts and stripes add a dose of decadent glamour. This is the Summer of Love dressed up and transported to a new level of refinement and class.

Take a look at the collection modeled by Jourdan Dunn, Karlie Kloss, Alessandra Ambrosio, Shena Moulton, Joan Smalls, Anais Mali, Rose Cordero, Jeneil Williams and more.

Beyonce Walks the Tom Ford Spring 2011 Show and Debuts Big, Curly Hair

Getting Beyonce to walk in your fashion show? Pretty impressive, wouldn't you say? Tom Ford certainly had plenty of star power at his Spring 2011 presentation with Julianne Moore, Lauren Hutton and of course, Queen B storming the catwalk.

Ford debuted his first Womenswear collection in an intimate presentation where photography wasn't allowed (some say you'll wait to January to see Beyonce's pics!) and bloggers were not present. The only photog on site, actually, was Terry Richardson. How's that for elite and exclusive?

The collection itself was much more bold and attention-seeking with velvet evening gowns, feather adornments and hammered gold breastplates making a glamorous statement. Beyonce wore one of the highlights of the collection: ablack-fishnet, gold pailette patterned dress. She walked out to enthusiastic applause, which says a lot at a fashion show full of important, sometimes stuffy editors. Can't wait for the fabulous pics!

In the meantime, check out this pic of Bey rocking a new, wild and fabulous head full of blonde curls. Now that's a runway-worthy moment.

GLAM OR SHAM?: Fashion Week Edition: Gwen Stefani's Mixed Tribal Print Dress at Fashion's Night Out

God, I love Gwen Stefani. Only she could fly under the radar and then, reappear during New York Fashion Week in this glorious dress.

Where most celebs mix a leopard top with a polka dot skirt for example, Gwen's blends two cool patterns in one phenomenal piece. Tribal prints and stripes? That's legendary style, folks.

And the colors: bright yellow, red, black and white compliment her signature beauty look (platinum blonde hair and fire-engine red lips) peerfectly.

And to make things better, she threw on tights and sandals for a cool, edgy look. Pretty amazing, don't you think?

The fashionista made an appearance at Sephora during Fashion's Night Out to debut her newest fragrance for Harajuku Lovers called Wicked Style. We can only hope the Spring 2011 L.A.M.B. collection has pieces like these.

What do you think? Glam or Sham?

GLAM OR SHAM? Fashion Week Edition: Angela Simmons' Black Cut-Out Catsuit and Pink Heels

With all this creativity and fabulous energy in the air, it's no wonder celebs (and their stylists) take more fashion risks during New York Fashion Week. Angela Simmons is the latest celeb to get bold and outrageous with her wardrobe choices for appearances at Lincoln Center.

To Charlotte Ronson's Spring 2011 runway show, the Pastry designer shocked fans by wearing a black catsuit with cut-outs and pink pumps. While catsuits are pretty much an Amber Rose staple, the look is a bit risque for Angela.

Still, she looks confident in the suit---and she's in fabulous shape. What do you think of her head-turning look? Glam or Sham?

New York Fashion Week: Z Spoke by Zac Posen Spring 2011

Zac Posen must have been in a vibrant mood when designing for Z Spoke. The designer, who is showing his eponymous line overseas, is one of the few to drench a collection in bold and decadent color this season. The result? A breath of fresh air among Spring 2011 lines that have been overwhelmingly rooted in neutrals and whites.

With punchy colors from red to yellow, Zac Posen took a lively and spirited approach to design---perhaps, a sign that he's courting a younger customer with diffusion line, Z Spoke. Imaginative prints like cartoons (created by Daisy de Villeneuve) and fruit energized the front of dresses and jumpsuits. Colors like orange, red, turquoise, yellow, brown and green were purposefully mixed together, making for an exuberant fashion statement.

While the collection was fun, it was still steeped in femininity and sex appeal. Dresses were flouncy with high hemlines and low necklines. Jumpsuits were belted at the waist, accentuating a womanly figure as only Zac knows how.

Lace was brilliantly weaved into the collection with lingerie peeking out of plaid dresses. Sheer panels bared the midriff, giving little black dresses a flirty sensibility.

Even the accessories managed to be both youthful and mature with cartoon prints and bold color-blocking adorning chic handbags. But the final gown was a sleek black number with cut-outs that was all woman.

Check out the collection, modeled by Crystal Renn, Sessilee Lopez and Rose Cordero, below.
