Julianne Hough Shares Her Skincare Woes (And Yes She Really Does Use ProActiv!)

You know, it's one thing to sign a contract that says you're going to endorse a product and it's another to not only endorse but USE the product that you're supposedly endorsing! While some of you may be scratching your heads and going "What in the heck is Ferocia talking about?!" let me clarify by saying what I said above makes perfect sense; AND that Julianne Hough, Proactiv spokesperson really actually uses the products! (Hence she has that amazing skin!)

How do I know? Well, only because I sat down and listened to her talk about it! Myself (along with a gaggle of other bloggers and editors) were invited to have a little chit-chat with the Dancing With The Stars dancer (which basically means you're allowed to ask her anything!) While I do admit that I'm not like a huge fan of Julianne, I did love her outfit, sweet disposition and that super cute dog of hers! (Outfit consisted of a David Meister dress and Salvatore Ferragamo heels and dog is a cavalier king charles named Lexi.)

One of the first things out of Julianne's mouth is that she's always had an ongoing battle with acne.

"I felt like everyone was looking at my zits, not looking at my eyes so it hurt my self esteem a little bit," she said.

Julianne described how her lifestyle of sweating up a storm while dancing and wearing a ton of makeup made her adapt a strict cleansing routine to clear her skin. She also said that getting in the routine of using Proactiv daily helped her to effectively get rid of her acne. (Can you even believe that she called the company herself to tell them that the stuff really works and thank them?!)

She uses the three step regimen from Proactiv daily but her favorite product is the Refining Mask (which also happens to be mine as well!) And I can't forget that she also loves the Makeup Wipes, which is another of my faves. (Can you tell that Julianne and I have sooo much in common?! hahaha)

What do you think of the Proactiv product line? Anyone else out there swear by it like Julianne and all of the other spokespeople do?!

Kristen Bell Is The New Face For Neutrogena!

My mom always did say I should take care of my skin because it’s one the thing that people see all the time. While Kristen Bell doesn't know my mom, it looks like she totally took her advice!

The "When in Rome" and "Burlesque" actress is the new face of the Neutrogena Naturals line, which contains no dyes, parabens, chemical sulfates, or petrochemicals. In other words it doesn’t have all of those heavy ingredients that can often hurt your skin more than they help.

Kristen knows a thing or two about pampering her skin. Just look at her flawlessly, luminous face. She was a spokesperson for Jergens and The Skin Care Foundation’s “Glow in the Dark" campaign, a call to action against tanning via the sun, and instead, using tanning lotions as a healthy alternative to getting a sunkissed glow.

Jergens is known for their Natural Glow moisturizers. I’m a Florida girl and I love the sun, but I love looking like a caramel-coated, golden goddess without the hassle of baking to get the look. Keeping up with proper skincare techniques paid off for Kristen because sources say that her contract is for $500,000.

Here’s what Kristen said about being Neutrogena’s newest spokesmodel: “I am really excited to be the new face of Neutrogena Naturals because I trust [the brand] so much already. I strive to live a healthy lifestyle, and…to be able to represent a line that I actually use and like to incorporate into my daily routine is ideal.”
There’s no official word on when the ads will run, but sources say that Kristen will star in a multimedia campaign. I’m excited to see the direction they take this digital campaign. In a world where online beauty shopping is far from passé, this is a smart move on Neutrogena’s part.
Are you excited about Kristen becoming Neutrogena's newest it-girl? Will/do you use the products? (I'm still holding out that a beauty brand will notice my great skin and give me a six figure salary as well hahaha)
Ciao Bellas,

What's Your Skincare Regimen? + Check Out Carrie Underwood's New Olay Ad

Hey Glamazons! I must first apologize for my absence. To say that I've been swamped lately is a serious understatement. But, I must say that no matter how busy I get, I always make time to take care of my skin. Sounds really superficial to say, but your looks will carry you a long way in this city and I plan on making sure that mine stay that way.
Side note: I will try my hardest to stray away from plastic surgery because it seems super painful, but let's all be honest here. If you had the money to do it once you get to a certain age, wouldn't you at least look into it?! I certainly do plan on it. And won't be afraid to talk about it later hahaha
OK, so back to my original point of skincare: I bring this up because Coutura sent me a BBM the other day asking questions about what type of products she should be using on her face and that it was kind of hard to navigate your way through the world of skincare. (Especially when you're not really into it in the first place!) However, like myself, she's dedicated to making sure that she looks amazing for the rest of her life, so she's not afraid to delve into the world of eye creams, serums and night creams.
I don't know if all of you were aware, but country singer Carrie Underwood has been named the new face of Olay. (The pic you see above will be her first ad for the brand and debuts in magazines February 2011.) What I thought most interesting about the article was that Underwood was tapped as part of the brand's plan to reach females ages 25-35 that aren't currently using Olay or any other skincare brand for that matter.
This made me think "OMG! What woman in her twenties/early 30's doesn't use skincare products?!" And then I thought that everyone isn't a skincare freak like me and (although I have no definitive numbers to back this up) I'm sure that there are plenty out there that don't.
Are you one of them? And, if you are a skincare freak like me, what do you use?
Also, what do you think of Underwood's first Olay ad? I think it looks great. I mean, if only we could all look that amazing after washing our face, right?! hahaha
Let's compare notes below in the comments section!

Ferocia's New Tool In The Battle Against Pesky Aging Things Like Crow's Feet (ewww!)

I’ve got a new secret skincare weapon that I’ve just got to share with you! (Because it would be super selfish of me NOT to tell you all about it and the fact that I’ve been using it non-stop since I was given the priviledge to receive it a couple of weeks ago at an event.)

So, without further ado, let me tell you all about the Clarisonic Opal. I’m sure that you’ve heard all about the actual Clarisonic for your face, right?

Well, just in case you may be saying “I don’t know what that is” while reading this, I guess it would only be fair for me to tell you all about it. The Cliff’s Notes version is that it it’s an awesome little face tool that utilizes gentle micro-massage action to gently cleanse skin so that you can better absorb facial products. In fact, there are all these fab clinical notes that have been published stating that you can remove six times the amount of makeup than you would with manual cleansing, reduce pore size, fine line and wrinkles while improving skin tone. Now, who doesn’t want this?!

So, after its wildly popular success, its great inventors came up with the Clarisonic Mia (a smaller, cuter version which I also scrub my face with religiously) and then TA-DA the Clarisonic Opal.

Us bloggers were treated to a little test preview at The Spa in the Trump SoHo tower. (Side note: Um, I was made to live in this building! It just exudes sexy swankness and I’m determined to one day have a penthouse suite there. Yeah, I said. Me. Stranger things have happened, right?! Hahahaha.)

I’m not sure of it you know it or not, but I’m obsessed with these crow’s feet that are starting to visibly creep onto my face (ewww!). So, I’ve been on a rampage to try and get rid of them. And now, dear Glamazons, I’ve finally found the tool that has done just so! This Opal is amazing in that it has the same vibrating, massaging technique as the Clarisonic except its used around your eyes. You know how they say you’re supposed to “gently pat” eye cream around the eye area lightly but don’t you ever wonder if you’re patting enough times or if you’re even doing it gently enough?! (I know I do!) The Opal takes all the guesswork out of this whole eye cream application business so you know that it’s getting done right and efficiently. And when things get done right and efficiently around your eye area, well, those pesky little crow’s feet just start to disappear over time like magic. And this Opal is so light and portable that you can take it everywhere with you!

Ah, I just love a skin miracle, don’t you!?

I know, I know the Opal is expensive ($245!) but believe me when I say that it’s totally worth the investment; and your face will thank you later. Also, if you can’t imagine being able to afford the actual Clarisonic, you can totally do its mini-me (the Mia) for $149.

You can feel good about your Mia purchase, too if you get the pink one since the brand is donating money to the national public service Look Good…Feel Better. This organization helps women with cancers manage their treatment and recovery with renewed spirit and greater confidence.

Both the Opal and Mia are available for purchase exclusively at Clarisonic.com and Sephora.com.

I’m telling you, after just one month with these products you’ll have the most lovely glowingest skin ever. Happy massaging!
