The troubled star, who could be released as early as next week, has been spending her time in the UCLA Medical Centre sketching ideas for her 6-1-2-6 clothing collection, her mum Dina said.
Dina told US entertainment show Extra: 'Lindsay's busy every day, actually, sketching.'
She added: 'We're great, we're doing well.'
The 24 year-old has also been responding to fan mail. Dina added: 'She is just thankful and grateful for all of her fans.
'They have been sending her letters and cards, and Lindsay has been answering them, so we're really pleased about that.'
