GLAM OR SHAM?: Kim Kardashian in Marchesa at the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards
Nevermind why she even attended the SAG Awards and if she's an actual actress (P.S. I thought she did a great job of acting upset with her naked W Magazine cover on Kim & Kourtney Take New York last night. Come on Kimmie), Kim Kardashian rarely misses the chance to appear on a red carpet and last night, she hit the Screen Actor's Guild Awards in a Marchesa gown.
She tweeted that she felt like a "princess" and in case you were wondering, she did indeed step out sans extensions and fake lashes. The result? She sure looked gorgeous without her beauty "enhancers" but the gown just didn't wow me. For princess, I prefer Olivia Wilde's black and gold Marchesa gown from the Golden Globes: full-on sparkly tulle and excess.
I don't think Kim Kardashian embodies that look here; this dress is more of a purple Grecian goddess moment. And that look is equally feminine, gorgeous and sexy. The cut-outs are classy and tasteful and the embroidery is super elegant and modern.
It's admittedly not my favorite Kim or Marchesa moment, but her beauty is non-debatable. What do you guys think of this look? Glam or Sham?
And what exercises does she do for that toned back?

Natalie Portman vs. Kim Kardashian in Lanvin for H&M: Fashion Faceoff
We all know that I (Coutura) thought the Lanvin for H&M collaboration was nothing short of brilliant. Hollywood thought so too.
Among the many celebs who were spotted wearing the collection, two of my favorites, Golden Globe winner (and Oscar no-brainer!) Natalie Portman and Reality Star/Recording Artist? Kim Kardashian both wore the Lanvin for H&M eggplant dress with poufy shoulder neckline and black grosgrain waistband.
Natalie Portman at the Gotham Independent Film Awards and Kim this week during her Kourtney & Kim Take New York press tour (P.S. are you guys watching that show this weekend?).
I actually wanted this dress (BAD) and tried it on but could not zip it up without crushing my rib cage. Shame. The next size up was just way too big all around. I wonder what size Kim's dress is because she has curves for days, and it didn't seem friendly to mine, which are small by comparison. Hmm...
Anyway, Natalie Portman paired hers with a Dior embellished clutch, black pumps and hot red lips. Kim Kardashian complimented her dress with YSL Tribtoo pumps and a smoky eye.
To me, a smoky eye is everything but Natalie's red lip adds a lovely touch of color and livens up the outfit. I also like that Natalie's hair is up (and in a side bun) so it doesn't compete with the poufy shoulder. Kim's hair, by comparison, makes the look a tad busy. Portman wins this one for me.
What say you?

Would you wear...A Fur Hat with Ears like Khloe Kardashian?
Sure the Kardashians have struck gold with their hit reality show, E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and their myriad beauty, fashion and lifestyle ventures. But does that give them the right to dress up like beasts (or let their tween fans overrun Prince Street)? My vote is No...
Kim made us all scratch our heads by wearing one bear sleeve at the Miami Heat and Nets game and now, sister Khloe is proving she won't be upstaged. She hit the town in not one, but two, furry hats complete with animal ears.
Nothing more luxurious than fur hats (faux for me) and to be sure, they keep you so warm in the bitter, blistering New York cold that you would think you were at home in flannels in front of the fireplace. But the ears are just so tacky, unnecessary, and Halloween-costume-ish. See?
I side-eyed but it seems these ear-hats are alll over the internet in leopard, wolf and cat styles. Complete with mittens and paw prints. Don't laugh, I'm serious.
But what do YOU think? Would you rock them? Tell us in the comments section!
Oh...and one thing I love about my readers: they think for themselves. So if you loove fur hats with ears, shop them below:

GLAM OR SHAM?: Kim Kardashian's Fur Sleeve
Leave it to Kim Kardashian to make a glamorous fashion statement at the most casual of settings: courtside at the Miami Heat vs. New Jersey Nets game to be exact (which is totally, by the way, where I should have been! My hometeam (Nets) and my favorite player (Lebron James), but I digress).
Sitting beside sister Khloe Kardashian and publicist Jonathan Cheban, Kim rocked a lavish single fur sleeve over a black turtleneck and skinny jeans. Not only was the fur sleeve too dressy for a basketball game, it was...well...a sleeve. If one sleeve of fur is a hot fashion trend, I've totally missed the memo.
I adore Kim's fashion sense, but this moment misses the mark for me. What do you think of her one-armed furry look at the Nets/Heat game? GLAM or SHAM?

Kanye West Compares Lindsay Lohan for Emanuel Ungaro to 9/11 PLUS Runaway Paris Screening
Kanye West promised to be more tactful in a Twitter rant following the Taylor Swift incident at last year's MTV VMA's...but you didn't believe him, right? Me either.
And truthfully, I don't want him to change. His tweets deliver daily entertainment ("I jog in Lanvin." "Being nice is my whole sh*t now") to my blackberry.
And only Kanye can write a whole amazing song about modelizing (Christian Dior Denim Flow) dropping names from "friend" Selita Ebanks to Lara Stone to Jessica Stam to Glamazon favorite Sessilee Lopez and make it funny and endearing. (P.S. every Good Friday song he's dropped is pretty amazing. All I listen to these days...).
So the fact that he compared Lindsay Lohan's design stint at Emanuel Ungaro to 9/11 is not at all surprising. Sure, he's exaggerating a bit but in Kanye West world, I'm sure it all makes sense.
To be fair, Lindsay's line last season was a disaster of epic proportions. And the fact that British designer Giles Deacon got rave reviews for designing Ungaro this season makes her look even worse. But 9/11? That's harsh, even for Lindsay (we just called the glambulance on her, we had sympathy).
Kanye's modelizer anthem, appearance at Kim Kardashian's Dash NYC, Fashion's Night Out cameo, red Peter Hildalgo suit at the VMAs and remarks on Lindsay for Ungaro are just the latest moves in his plan to penetrate the fashion world. He's studied under Marc Jacobs, gave a Yale dropout the opportunity to style him and facilitated Amber Rose's climb from exotic dancer to exotic fashion icon in a little over a year.
Also, lest I forget, he screened his film, Runaway, in the fashion capital, Paris, though not enough fashion people came out for his liking: "Last night at my Paris premiere of 'Runaway,' what hurt most was the people who weren't there. People look down on celebs doing fashion," Kanye said of the fashion folks who skipped out on the show. (Uhhh...where was my invite? I would've came Ye...).
Not to worry, I'm sure it will be only a matter of time before Anna Wintour dances it up with him at the MET gala. And in the meantime, with his hilarious critiques of fashion lines like Lindsay's, he can always moonlight as a fashion blogger.
What do you think of Kanye's comment? And that Christian Dior Denim Flow song? Will he ever be embraced by the fashion industry?
Check out a sneak peek of his Runaway video and Paris screening below.
