GET THE LOOK: Katy Perry's Cutie-Pie Curls At The 2011 People's Choice Awards

One of my favorite beauty and fashion looks from last night's People's Choice Awards goes to none other than the glamazing Katy Perry. Decked out in a fun 1980ish looking strapless tutu-like Betsey Johnson dress, Perry's hair was styled by one of my all-time fave hair stylists, Danilo. Much like her style at the American Music Awards, Danilo left her hair down this time around as well and gave her these "sophisticated, cutie-pie curls." Here's how you can get the look:

-Start with washed, towel-dried hair.
-Lightly mist your hair with the Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Heat Protection & Shine Spray.
-Spray roots with Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Root Lifter Spray Gel to prep for voluminous style.
-Blow out your hair and then rub a small dollop of the Pantene Pro-V Restore Beautiful Lengths Smoothing Balm before applying heat from the curling iron.
-Using a medium-sized curling iron, set each section of the hair and spray with Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Professional Level Style Shaping Hairspray. Let it cool for about 5 minutes and gently brush.

These products will help you to achieve this look:

What do you think of it, Glamazons?

GET THE LOOK! Katy Perry's Flowing Waves At The 2010 American Music Awards

Alright, I know it seems like I've been talking about Katy Perry a lot these days (I'm even wearing her new fragrance Purr right now as I type this) but I assure that I'm totally not a STAN.
I just happen to really like her style plus she's like the cutest girl in America right now. She's totally my girl crush of the moment! (Right before her it was Kim Kardashian, but I'm not feeling the shape that her face is starting to morph into since she keeps getting all of that plastic surgery..ew.)

And, speaking of style, Katy's was right on point at last night's American Music Awards!
I loved the naturally peachy pink look she rocked on the red carpet and those lush lashes were definitely giving me life. However, it's her flowing, wavy locks that give her that pretty-girl-next-door look I so adore.
Lucky for her, she had the amazing Pantene Celebrity Stylist Danilo sculpting her locks. (He's also Gwen Stefani's go-to hair guy..love him!)
According to Danilo, Katy's look last night on the red carpet was "classic Hollywood with a contemporary twist." For the show, she wanted to have "big, voluminous hair," so Danilo said he used products from Pantene's Fine Collection to give her long lasting volume.
Here's Danilo's step-by-step guide on you can get Katy's look:

- “Before doing any hair style, I always encourage my clients to wash and condition their hair—that way I can start with a clean, healthy base. I recommend beginning with the Pantene Pro-V Fine Flat to Volume Shampoo and Conditioning regimen, the customized formula gently cleanses hair to help remove dulling residue and build up while replenishing from root to tip.”

- “Before blow-drying, I applied a light mist of the Pantene Pro-V Fine Heat Protection & Shine Spray to Katy’s hair. This helps to protect hair against heat while providing a soft, healthy-looking finish.”

-“Next, I sprayed each section with the Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Root Lifter Spray Gel, this provides weightless volume that is full of long lasting body and shine. After her hair was prepped, I blew out the hair, creating volume from the base of the strands.”

-“Using a medium curling iron, I created a spiral glamour set on each section of the hair and sprayed it with the Pantene Pro-V Touchable Volume Hairspray. Then each curl was pinned up and left to cool.“

-“Once I took the curls out, I used a glamour set where I brushed the curls out so the wave pattern revealed itself, opposed to hair being tousled. This gives a glamorous look to the hair. What I love about this look is that the wave is at the bottom, opposed to a retro look were the hair is curled under.”

AND (most importantly) check out her awesome performance from last night!

Pantene Does My Tresses Good!

I haven't been this excited about a drug store shampoo since...well, I actually can't even remember. Maybe because I've never really been too excited about any drugstore shampoos. True, they get the job done but I live for the more expensive brands (ie Kerastase and Oribe).
As previously reported, Pantene has finally received a much needed makeover and the good folks at Procter & Gamble have completely re-jigged the line. In fact, this was a project at least 5 years in the making!

Top scientists at Pantene discovered the obvious: one ingredient/formula does not work on the hair. It's such a simple concept that it's borderline genius. With that in mind, they narrowed it down to four hair types: fine, medium-thick, curly and color-treated.

From there, they've broken up the product line into shampoo, conditioners and leave-in treatments that are perfect to mix or use alone:
-Fine Hair Solutions: Flat to Volume, Dry to Moisturized, Fragile to Strong
-Medium-Thick Hair Solutions: Frizzy to Smooth, Breakage to Strength, Dry to Moisturized
-Curly Hair Series: Curls to Straight, Dry to Moisturized
-Color Preserve Shine, Volume, Smooth, Blonde Expressions, Highlighting Expressions, Brunette Expressions

They recently held a fun beauty bloggers event where we all received a run down on the new products, blow-outs, styling sessions and a makeup application. Celebrity hairstylist Danilo (he tames and styles the locks of Gwen Stefani and Kate Hudson among others!) was also on hand to tell us which products from the line would work best for us and (because he couldn't help himself) even styled my hair. I just love him. That's us pictured above talking all things hair.
I didn't have time to get the full washing experience, so I tested them out earlier this week in my shower. And, can I just say, that they're amazing?! I kid you not, my hair color came out looking just like it does when I use the Kerastase products. Here's what I used:

-Color Preserve Smooth Shampoo: Protects colored hair and smoothes with intense moisturizers ($3.99)
-Color Hair Solutions Color Nourishing Treatment: Weekly treatment to help seal in color and enhance shine ($3.99)
-Curly Hair Style Creme: Anti-frizz Straightening, smoothes curls and preps for a straight look ($5.99)
-Curly Hair Style Spray: Heat Protection & Shine, helps to protect against heat damage and enhances shine ($5.99)

With prices like those that come with amazing results, I highly encourage to get your hands on these stat...especially if you're a beauty budgenista!

Pantene and Bret Michaels??

Yes, I'm sure that most of you are just as confused as we are, Glamazons! I was super stoked when I received the e-mail stating that Pantene would be announcing a new spokesperson live via a webcast at noon today. I tuned in and there was the current spokesperson, the fab Stacy London, and Bret Michaels. Huh? Then the announcement that YOU could be the next Pantene spokesperson. The brand has a casting call out for the world's first reality hair star (click here to enter). Oh, so Bret was there because of the tie-in with the whole "reality" spin. But, does he even count as a reality star?! Not in my book; and (call me a hater), but I totally don't think that's all his hair (like maybe he has a track or two up in there haha). What about Snooki from Jersey Shore? Or Natalie Nunn from Bad Girls Club? I would have much rather seen these reality stars like the above mentioned. Not Bret Michaels. Ew.

But (all rants aside), the contest looks pretty awesome! Good luck to all who enter!

Pantene Gets New Packaging

One of our fave classic drugstore brands, Pantene, will feature new packaging and formulas beginning in May 2010. According to a recent article on wwd.com, the revamped line will target four hair types: medium-thick, fine, color-treated and curly. New formulations will further help to target these hair types.
The new Pantene architectures include Fine Hair Solutions, which offers three versions: Flat to Volume, Dry to Moisturized and Fragile to Strong. For medium-thick hair, there’s Medium-Thick Hair Solutions in four versions: Frizzy to Smooth, Breakage to Strength, Dry to Moisturized and Flat to Volume. For curly hair, there’s a Curly Hair Series in two versions: Curls to Straight and Dry to Moisturized. For color-treated hair, there’s Color Hair Solutions in six versions: Color Preserve Shine, Volume, Smooth, Blonde Expressions, Highlighting Expressions and Brunette Expressions.
What do you think of the new, colorful packaging? We love it and were pleased to hear that prices will still remain the same for the items. Can't wait to get our hands on 'em!
